EXO Collaborates With Disney To Promote ‘Star Wars’ Movie Production

Super Junior, Big Bang, and Girls Generation are among the few names heard when talking about Korean pop music. While the Korean movement continues to take control of the music and entertainment industry, EXO is taking an extra step.

The wave may indeed be EXO since they were chosen by one of the largest entertainment house Disney to release a song as a way of promoting "Star Wars," according to the Korean Portal.

Reportedly, Disney made the special request to promote the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" film. The single "Light Saber" came out on Nov. 11.

The song is currently available for the public globally via iTunes. The single has a high speed dance beat with EDM components that describes the whole Star Wars journey.

A 12-member crew filmed the video for "Light Saber" that has a collaboration movie theme. The song featured group members as part of a Jedi-only club all dressed in Star Wars-inspired outfit and actual light sabers.

The coming together of EXO, their management organization SM Entertainment, and Disney is meant to appeal to a younger audience. The collaboration wanted to attract not only avid fans of Star Wars but also share the journey to a younger generation of viewers. The movie is a very famous franchise, but Disney pointed out that they had a difficult time when it came to attracting a younger audience.

Collaborating with EXO, Disney is optimistic that the younger audience will have interest in the franchise. The EXO group's background makes them best suited to promote the movie because they have a worldwide audience following their journey as a group.

The agreement between the two companies reveals that SM Entertainment is the only Korean corporation having this type of association with a Hollywood production firm.

SM Entertainment, therefore, has a chance to offer their artists universal exposure. Watch out the video clip below for more information.
