Xiaomi Mi4, the latest Xiaomi flagship device, received the Windows 10 mobile OS on Dec. 3, Thursday. Xiaomi president and co-founder Lin Bin announced the big release.
Bin revealed a photo on Weibo that confirms the rumors that Xiaomi Mi 4 will be running the newly released Windows 10. The announcement was subsequent to Microsoft's OS Software Engineer post on his Weibo account that claimed that the Windows 10 OS for Xiaomi Mi 4 will be taking place.
Microsoft previously announced that there will be a well-established partnership with the Chinese electronic company, in addition to the announcement of its plans to run Windows 10 on smartphones.
The Xiaomi Mi 4 will come with several impressive specifications with Microsoft's operating system. The smartphone is known for being an affordable handset that sports high quality features. The device features a 5-inch Full HD screen and will run on Snapdragon 801 SoC. It will also be equipped with a RAM of 3GB with 16GB internal memory, Windows Central reported.
The Xiaomi Mi4 main camera will sport 13 MP, while its front camera will have a higher than the usual 8 MP. The handset will also include a 3,080mAh battery pack that keeps the lights on for a long period of time.
The Xiaomi Mi 4 will according to experts will not be the last one from the Xiaomi brand to receive the Windows 10 Mobile OS. In fact, the succeeding Xiaomi smartphones may also get this new mobile OS from Microsoft, BGR reported.
Xiaomi Mi4 is now available for purchase in India and costs $225.
