The NBA Trade Rumors have the Houston Rockets taking on drastic measures to try and save their season which is swiftly fading away.

According to Rockets blog Space City Hoop, the team needs to explore trades to improve their roster. They mention that in the tough Western Conference, a team has to invest fully and GM Daryl Morey understands that.

The Rockets have already frozen Ty Lawson and withheld significant playing time and a Bleacher Report article mentioned that the Rockets are indeed exploring options for the former Nuggets point guard.

On option that SCH suggested is Brandon Jennings. While he is still scheduled to return in two weeks, the Rockets could benefit from a new look rather than stay put with Lawson.

The Detroit Pistons already have the point guard position set with Reggie Jackson so Jennings would be expendable and they can gamble on Ty Lawson. Jennings has the potential to be a starter and he could bring energy and quickness to the Rockets who have become sluggish of late.

The Rockets also need more offense from the power forward position. Markieff Morris has not been very productive this season, but most observers credit that to the fact that he still wants out of Phoenix. It is possible that the Suns just don't want to be lowballed by trading Morris at the height of his trade demand.

For the right price, Morris can be moved and the Rockets should be ready to make a bid. Keef is strong and has the ability to stretch the floor better than the other Rockets power forwards. They can swap Terrence Jones straight up for him.

Houston definitely has a problem and the Rockets are not one to shy away from possible solutions.
