Attack on Titan (Japanese: 進撃の巨人 Hepburn: Shingeki no Kyojin?, lit. "Advancing Giants") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama.

After the success of "Attack on Titan" season 1, avid fans are already gearing up for the second installment, and now rumors indicate that season 2 will hit the shelves in 2016.

Latest speculations about "Attack on Titan" season 2 reveal that the installment could turn out to be the last anime adaptation of the series. According to Nerdist, "Attack on Titan" or "Singeki no Kyojin" in Japanese is speculated to end soon, since the anime adaptation should not be the same length as "Dragon Ball Z" and "Naruto."

Kawakubo Shintaro, the editor of "Attack on Titan" revealed that the manga version is already 60 percent complete. As a result, 27 more volumes are anticipated for the franchise, which is equivalent to about three more years of the story.

The game was initially released in Japan before being launched worldwide. In "Attack on Titan" Season 1, the storyline concentrated on the first 34 chapters. This included the story of "The Fall of Shiganshina," "The Female Titan," and "Battle of Trost District" along with "104 Trainees Squad."

On the other hand, season 2 will see the storyline focusing on the "104 Trainees Squad." The trainees will fight against the Titans who infiltrated Wall Rose. The fight will take place under the leadership of Captain Erwin Smith, who will lose his arm eventually and leave the squad.

The storyline of season 2 will as well feature Kevin Ackerman trying to eat and attack Eren Yaeger in his complete Titan form to obtain the Coordinate.

Ackerman will eventually spit Yaeger out since the Coordinate originally belongs to the Reiss family. It will come to surface in the later stage of the plot that Lenz is the rightful owner of the Coordinate as opposed to Eren.
