'Winds of Winter' Release Happening After 'Game of Thrones' Season 6?

“The Winds of Winter” is the sixth installment of the of “A Song of Ice and Fire,” the basis of HBO’s popular series “Game of Thrones.”

There are rumors that "Winds of Winter" release may happen after "Game of Thrones" Season 6 airs.

The highly anticipated book from George R.R Martin's famous series "A Song of Fire and Ice," "Winds of Winter' is yet to hit the stores. The long awaited book in getting delayed due one reason or another since a year.

The television counterpart of this book, which is "Game of Thrones" Seaon 6 will be getting premiered in the month of April next year. Fans were hoping against hope that the book gets released before the television series is premiered, because that will definitely make more sense. However, their hopes are going to be dashed as the latest rumors claim that the book release will happen after the TV show.

It is earlier rumored that "Winds of Winter" will be released either during the Christmas time this year or during Spring next year. Martin teased his fans on his personal blog  about his cameo for Syfy's "Z Nation" where he signs a book titled "A Promise of Spring," which led to speculations about the book's spring release. 

The author is yet to reveal the exact date of the book's release, with him keeping absolutely quiet about "Winds of Winter." However, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Martin did reveal that he is determined to finish the book, at all costs by 2016.

In the meantime, the filming of the upcoming season of "Game of Thrones" is almost over. This time though, a lot of images of the shoot were leaked online.

Images regarding the characters of Jon Snow and Shae were leaked. Both of these characters were presumed dead earlier. Seeing them well and shooting for the next season points towards the fact that a lot of turns and twists are to be expected with the show.

The show is already getting released with a delay of two weeks, as HBO is introducing a new show in its previous slot. "Game of Thrones" Season 6 will premiere on HBO on April 13, 2016.
