Known as Tobey Maguire's "Spider-Man 3" leading lady, Kirsten Dunst is about to make debut in the hit series "Fargo." She will take on the role of an ambitious beautician named Peggy Blomquist with Jesse Plemons playing her devoted butcher husband, A.V. Club reported.

Also joining the second season of the hit series "Fargo" are Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson and Jean Smart, Reuters has learned.

Wilson will play Lou Solverson who is a Minnesota patrol man and a war veteran that will handle a criminal case. Danson will portray Lou's father-in-law Sheriff Hank Larson who is described similarly to a cowboy. Smart will play the powerful head of a crime family, Floyd Gerhardt.

The second season of "Fargo" will air 10 episodes and will take place at South Dakota, Sioux Falls and Luverne, Minnesota. Lou with the assistance of Sheriff Hank will embark on a case involving a local gang and a big syndicate.

The pair will meet the lawyer Karl Weathers played by Nick Offerman and syndicate leader Joe Bulo portrayed by Brad Garrett and his right hand Mike Milligan played by Bokeem Woodbine.

To complete the entire cast, Smart will have three sons in the series portrayed by Jeffrey Donovan, Angus Sampson, and Kieran Culkin who will fight for the ownership of the family business.

"Fargo" creator Noah Hawley revealed that the story line will expand in terms of theme and characters, according to Rolling Stone.

"It has more of an epic feel to it. That's exciting. Within that expansion, we're still holding onto that "Fargo" tone. My feeling was that Joel and Ethan never repeat themselves, so the show would be false if we just tried to do the same thing again. We should take their example," Hawley said.

The critically acclaimed "Fargo" has five nominations for the Golden Globe Awards on Jan.11 and the second season will air next fall.
