Sony has announced eight PS2 games that can now be played on PS4 console as part of celebrating PlayStation's 20th anniversary.

Fan-favorite PS2 classic games like GTA III, GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, Dark Cloud, The Mark of Kri, and Rogue Galaxy are now available on PS4 for $14.99 each. On the other hand, War of the Monsters and Twisted Metal: Black will go for $9.99 each.

Players can buy these PS2 titles directly from the PlayStation Store in America and Europe.

According to Sony's official website, "Having these titles available on PS4 is already incredibly exciting for us, but we did not stop there. Also, you will be able to experience all of these PS2 games like never before -- in up-rendered 1080p with the features you expect from a PS4 game."

Sony will later on incorporate other favorites like The King of Fighters 2000 and PaRappa the Rapper 2, according to Tech Times. In addition, all the PS2 classics available for PS4 will receive Trophy support. The President of Sony's Worldwide Studios for Sony Computer Entertainment Inc, Shuhei Yoshida, said that the Trophy set for each game has been create based on the feedback from the original developers of the game.

The PS2 classics will as well support PS4 elements like remote play, share play, broadcast, active feeds, and second screen support for game manuals with PlayStation Vita or App. A video trailer displaying some PS2 games running HD on a PS4 is also available.

However, the message that appears at the end of the clip may disillusion players. The message reads, "PS2 Classics and PS2-formatted discs are incompatible with the PS4 system."

The implication of the message is that gamers will not be able to insert a PS2 disc in the PS4. As a result, they will have to purchase a PS4 compatible disc. Check out the clip below for more information.
