"Game of Throne" Season 6 promotional poster shows a bloody but alive Jon Snow.

The recent "Game of Thrones" Season 6 footage release by HBO has quite some surprises for its viewers.

Rather than giving sneak peeks into the upcoming season, the released footage is teasing fans' fantasies. Season 6 preview has nothing to offer for the ones awaiting Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) comeback.

Rumors of his comeback were fuelled with the teaser poster featuring him, looking all bloodied and with the word "April" written across. In spite of the poster release and much speculations regarding Jon Snow's return, HBO is keeping mum.

The background voice in the footage is of "Stars Wars'" star Max von Sydow who will be playing the Three-Eyed Raven, a character that came into notice in the Season 4 finale, according to VarietyIn the footage, he said, "We watch. We listen. And we remember. The past is already written. The ink is dry."

It hinted the shocking death of Jon Snow and the Red Wedding deaths, urging Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) to move on and lift the Stark name to its previous glory.

Other than Max von Sydow's entry, "Game of Thrones" Season 6 is bringing back Cersei (Lena Headey) in her not-so-famous pixie cut, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) who looks quite confused even with her dragon entourage and Ramsay (Iwan Rheon) in his usual threatening demeanor.

Cersei is seen hugging her son King Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman) looking as unabashed as ever. Ramsay seems to be marching on with an entourage as well.

"Game of Thrones" Season 6 seems to ring in a more significant role for Bran Stark (Issac Hempstead), who was largely absent in the last season, according to a feature by Independent. As per the storyline, he will have more use of his supernatural power; more so with the entry of the Three-Eyed Raven, who may mentor him.

"Game of Thrones" Season 6 will be back with surprises in April 2016.
