According to the Xinhua News Agency, Taiwanese actor Kai Ko has apparently returned to work, landing his first commercial assignment through the influence of his father Ko Yao-tsung.

Kai's appearance on Tuesday, in which he donned products from the latest fashion collection of designer brand Porter during a runway event, came after almost five months had elapsed since he was embroiled in an August 2014 drug scandal.

Media reports indicated that Ko is closely associated with the designer brand's senior management, resulting in his son's participation in the promotional event. The reports also relayed that Kai accepted "friendly appearance fees" to rejuvenate a career that has been significantly affected by the events of last year.

Ko was also present at the collection show, and he selected items as part of a plan to launch a personal fashion brand for his son. Ko was also observed taking photographs of his son from under the stage.

However, Kai did not shy away from reporters and actually stated that he was made more anxious by the presence of his father. The 23-year-old actor of "You Are the Apple of My Eye" also refuted the claims of nepotism, explaining that his agency representatives secured the job for him. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity before the media.

Kai said that he does feel an "itch" to return to acting due to the television dramas that he has seen, but he was adamant that he will not appear in any television programs during the forthcoming year.

The young actor was also asked about New Year resolutions, to which Kai replied that he is seeking to achieve the goals he set for himself at the beginning of 2014: working on his physical bulk and appearance, becoming proficient in free combat and developing his singing ability.
