Snapchat Extended Outage Successfully Fixed

Snapchat users are receiving error messages and saying that logging out and back in again fails to restore service.

Snapchat has been experiencing an extended outage, acknowledging that there is indeed an issue with the service.

Image-based messaging service said that the team has been working to resolve the issue. The company also stated that they are very sorry for any inconvenience causing to their community and partners.

A lot of Snapchat users are complaining of being affected by the outage, posts on social media says the app would not refresh after latest update was installed. Other users are receiving error messages and saying that logging out and back in again fails to restore service. In addition, there is an issue that is preventing Snapchatters from posting and viewing Snaps and Stories.

The site Down Detector, which collates reports of outages from users, said 41 percent of users cannot log in or connect to the Snapchat server. CNet reported. A smaller number are unable to send or receive snaps or to refresh the app. 

Some of the error messages shown are: “Oh no, login temporarily failed” when trying to log in, and “Could not refresh. Please try again later,” while attempting to use the app. The majority of these reports are coming in from Western Europe, the site’s outage map indicates, but not necessarily means a regional outage.

Snapchat said that the source of the troubles could be the Google App Engine, mainly because Snapchat is built on Google’s cloud, according to Tech Crunch

It is a common occurrence on service such as Snapchat to suffer from downtime. It is a routine matter and the fix does not really take too long to come around. The team that has been working on eliminating issues for all users successfully fixed the problems very quickly.
