Samsung to launch its Galaxy A3 (2016) and Galaxy A5 (2016) in Europe

South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics is reportedly preparing to launch its Galaxy A3 (2016) and Galaxy A5 (2016) smartphones in the European market, beginning on January 8.

These handsets, including the Galaxy A7 (2016), are expected to make their way into the Chinese market sometime this month, before heading to Europe and elsewhere. It is still unclear whether the Galaxy A7 (2016) will also arrive in Europe.

The Galaxy A3 (2016) will cost about $360, while the Galaxy A5 (2016) will come with a price tag of $470, according to Phone Arena.

Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016)

The Galaxy A3 (2016) weighs about 132 grams and measures 134.5 x 65.2 x 7.3 mm in dimensions. The phone runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop version operating system and sports a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display screen with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution.

The Galaxy A3 (2016) has a 13 megapixel camera on the back and a 5 megapixel camera on the front. Under the hood, it packs a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card) and a 2,300 mAh battery.

Other specs include support for Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n and NFC connectivity.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)

As for the Galaxy A5 (2016), it weighs about 155 grams and measures 144.8 x 71 x 7.3 mm in dimensions, according to GSM Arena. This phone also runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and sports a larger 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.

The Galaxy A5 (2016) also has a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing unit. Inside, the device is powered by an octa-core 1.6 GHz processor, and packs 2GB of RAM, a 16GB memory and a 2,900 mAh battery.

It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a, b, g, n, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC connectivity as well. Unlike the A3 (2016), the A5 (2016) comes with a fingerprint sensor that will work with Samsung Pay.
