Tech giant Google recently announced the Play Music Family Plan. A service which is almost similar to Apple Music's family plan, the Play Music Family Plan supports up to six Google accounts and costs $14.99 a month.

By subscribing to Play Music Family Plan, users will get access to more than 35 million audio tracks. Subscribers to the new Family Plan, just like other Google Play Music premium users, will not be bothered by any ads while using the service. Subscribers can stream unlimited music through the Android or iOS app, as well as the Play Music's desktop version.

In order to avoid confusion since the account is shared, Google will keep every members playlist and favorites separate from one another.

Unlike Apple Music which only offers unlimited audio streaming, Google is breaking barrier by incorporating YouTube Red as part of the Play Music Family Plan for United States subscribers. YouTube Red subscription allows users to browse and watch music videos which can be downloaded and played offline. According to The Verge, every user who is part of the Family Plan gets to access ad-free YouTube videos.

According to ZDNet, Play Music Family Plan is available for users located in the U.S., United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany and Australia. The search giant said that more countries will be added into the list soon.

In terms of comparison, Apple Music currently charges $14.99 monthly while the leading streaming music service Spotify charges a bit more than that. Spotify said that it will eventually reduce its subscription fee in order to match the price set by Google and Apple.
