Angelina Jolie On The Set Of 'Unbroken'

"Before the wedding in France with the kids, Brad and I were already married in California. As Americans, we couldn't marry legally in France," "Unbroken" director Angelina Jolie recently told Italian magazine Io Donna.

In August 2014, Jolie and "Fury" star Brad Pitt married in a private ceremony in France, which is currently controversial because of the Charlie Hebdo shooting.

Shortly after the wedding, Pitt revealed that he pro-gun. He told Radio Times he has owned a gun since he was six years old and explained there was a rite of passage where he grew up of inheriting ancestors' weapons.

The 50-year-old actor said his brother got their father's while he got their grandfather's shotgun when he was in kindergarten. He got an air gun at first before he was given the shotgun at the age of six and at the age of eight, he fired a gun for the first time.

In the film "Fury," Pitt plays a tank unit commander during World War II. A real-life WWII tank driver, 92-year-old George Smilanich from Hibbing, was flown to Hollywood to consult on the movie.

The married father of six admitted he does not really feel that his family is safe unless there is a gun in his home. Born in Oklahoma and raised in Missouri, Pitt said the positive side of owning a gun at a very young age was that his father instilled in him "a profound and deep respect for the weapon."

Jolie and Pitt are yet to share their thoughts about the Charlie Hebdo shooting.
