A third party app is soon to be used to upload a video to twitter. This is how users are able to post videos at this time. However, noises started to buzz as Robert Llewellyn tweeted that a direct video upload is Twitter's latest feature on his Oct. 22, 2014 tweet.

This new feature would be a good move for twitter, Tech Digest reported.

At present, Twitter users rely on third party app to be able to post a video on a tweet and bringing in a direct video upload feature would give Twitter a huge boost to its hits.

Previously, Twitter did not entirely support images being uploaded directly so a third party app called Twitpic was used by most users to upload a pic with their tweet.

Twitter soon allowed the direct photo uploads to its users, slaying Twitpic in the process, so direct video upload would be a very logical feature to add too.

Having such feature, Twitter users will be able to spend more time on their website. The ability to have a video uploaded to a user's Twitter profile is a huge advantage for the struggling social media.

Facebook has the direct video upload already and has made a huge impact on users to spend lots of time on their pages. Instagram has also followed suit to include video uploads for their users based on the popularity of Vine. It was a smart move for Instagram and a successful development.

Vine, Instagram, and Snapchat allow short video clip uploads as of this time; this would work enough with Twitter as well.
