For the first time, Tiffany & Co. featured a gay couple in their ad campaign. The jeweller used a real-life New York City gay couple to pose for the engagement ad.

Linda Buckley, Tiffany & Co. Vice President of North American PR, told Elle that the same-sex couple ad campaign clearly shows that the road to marriage is not linear anymore and that true love can now happen in different forms.

The Tiffany engagement ring is normally the first step for every couple who wishes to write a new story of life together. This life is deep and intimate which is the message of the ad campaign, added Buckley.

The seven scenes of the ad campaign what shot by fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh. In one of the shots, the real-life gay couple is seen sitting on a NYC stoop. This particular photo drew a widespread praise for displaying a same-sex pair.

The 178-year-old jeweler giant took a step into accepting the LGBT community.  This is their first ad depicting gay couple and has joined the growing list of big companies using same-sex couple in advertisement campaign. Banana Republic and Target are in the list to name a few.

Another shot that created noise was a couple on their wedding day with their child. This depicts the rapid growth of women having children out of wedlock. This is a way to express that love comes in different forms, as Buckley put it.

The rest of the seven scenes of the latest Tiffany ad campaign featured the same-sex couple on a city rooftop, driving in a convertible and at home on a sofa.
