"Survival of the fittest" and death. These are what Bryan Singer's first "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer and teaser photo suggest.
Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer has arrived. It opened with Jean Grey tellng Charles Xavier that she had seen the end of the world and she could have felt all deaths. Xavier counters Grey's vision by telling her that it had been just a dream.
Another sequence in the trailer saw En Sabah Nur/ Apocalypse and Storm, with the former presumably recruiting the latter as one of his Fourse Horsemen.
It can also be seen that Xavier and Alex Summers met Moira MacTaggert in the Central Intelligence Agency and learned about secret societies who believe in the second coming and sign of god, along with the belief that the world's first mutant was born thousands of years ago.
Subsequent sequences featured old and new characters like Beast, Raven, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, and Magneto. Apocalypse also says in a voice over that the mutants were his children and they were lost because they had followed blind leaders. He added that that he was here now for them.
The trailer also featured Apocalypse's Four Horsemen - Storm, Archangel, Psylocke, and Magneto, with MacTaggert informing Xavier and Summers that Apocalypse had always had four followers, imbued with powers. A sample was seen with Magneto pulling Xavier, who is sitting on his wheelchair.
Raven appears to have a pivotal role in the film, as the trailer showed her and Beast, lead the X-Men. In line with the war among evil mutants, good mutants, and man, the trailer also featured the X-Men's abilities, such as Cyclops' lasers, Apocalypse's size-change, Quicksilver's speed, and Archangel's flight.
With the first "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer, the film promises a new team "X-Men" film, since "X-Men: The Last Stand," as per Forbes.
On Dec. 10, X-Men Movies tweeted a teaser photo, which featured the "X-Men" insignia along with the tagline "Only the strong will survive." It is noted that one part of it looks undamaged while the other looks the opposite.
In the caption, it reads "Tune in tomorrow for the #XMen: #Apocalypse trailer. Be the first to wtach it on Youtube.com/FoxMovies." While the said "X-Men: Apocalypse" photo has no official title image on it, it is assumed that fans would be seeing the same image in posters that will be in theaters soon, as per Cinema Blend. .
It is anticipated that many lives would be lost in the story, either humans or mutants, since "X-Men: Apocalypse" literally suggest catastrophe or end of the world. Some characters from the previous "X-Men" film installments are also speculated to appear in Singer's upcoming film, since there was a change in the timeline in "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27, 2016.
