"Royals" hitmaker Lorde stood out at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards by wearing a custom black tuxedo.

Created by designer Narciso Rodriguez, the tuxedo is an oversized blazer that has a strong shoulder and was open to show a cropped black top with a neckline that is low but not revealing. Around her neck are apparently a million carats of sparkling Neil Lane diamonds.

Lorde also paired the tuxedo with loosely flowing trousers flowed. With her slicked back dark hair, the whole ensemble gave the New Zealander a mature but glamorous look.

Lorde's "Yellow Flicker Beat" from "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" was nominated at the 2015 Golden Globes for Best Original Song, Motion Picture along with Sia's "Opportunity" for "Annie," Lana Del Rey''s "Big Eyes" from the Tim Burton film of the same title, and Patti Smith's "Mercy Is" from "Noah" but they all lost to John Legend's collaboration song with Common titled "Glory" from "Selma."

Borm Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, Lorde just turned 18 on Nov. 7, 2014. With "Royals," she became the youngest artist to reach one on the Billboard Hot 100 on Oct. 2, 2013 since Tiffany who also topped the chart on Nov. 14, 1987 with "I Think We're Alone Now."

In 2014, Lorde was also featured in "South Park" Season 18 Episode 3, which also presented the few transphobic characters in a negative light.

At a kids' party, reporter Brandon Carlile asked about Lorde's performance. A man claimed he works with the New Zealand singer at the United States Geological Survey and she lives a double life as a musician and a fluvial geomorphologist.
