Two people were dead in the display factory of LG in South Korea due to a nitrogen leak; one worker died on the spot, the other on the vehicle while being rushed to the hospital.

Four more workers consisting of contractors and staff were found injured on the scene and another one is still in critical condition.

The nitrogen leak happened early Monday morning at the LG factory located in Paju, within the northern part of Seoul. All workers who were involved in the accident were part of the renovation team in the factory's building, specifically in its ninth floor. LG is a popular brand, which manufactures LCD (liquid crystal display) screens for numerous household products such as television sets.

As reported by the Korea Times, Nitrogen is found in the Earth's atmosphere. While this is a naturally occurring gas, this could cause asphyxiation if purely inhaled. Since it is odorless and colorless, it is almost impossible for any human being to detect it in the air.

An investigation of the fire crews has revealed that one of the factory's workers have accidentally opened the building's nitrogen valve. In a statement through the Yonhap News, the company said, "We are sending our apologies and heartfelt apologies to all of the deceased and their families. Rest assured, we will do whatever it takes, in our power, to assist all injured personnel until they are fully recovered."

In two months time, this is South Korea's second nitrogen accident. The first industrial gas accident was last month when three workers were found dead due to 3 nuclear reactors in Shingori.
