During the last "Ninja Turtles," it was outlined in clear terms why Krang comes to "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out of the Shadows."

Fan-favorite shelled heroes are returning to the big screen, and the first promo reveals just how great the sequel to Michael Bay's 2014 movie will be.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shows" appears to be action-packed as Bay is still the producer. However, the upcoming installment focuses more on over-the-top comedy because it goes back to its 1980 cartoon roots, according to Tech Times.

The latest trailer shows that Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello will be facing off Bebop and Rocksteady, two of the friends who were featured in the cartoon series.

In the cartoon series, Rocksteady and Bebop are part of a human street gang in New York City employed by Shredder. The gang is sent out on an assignment to stop April O'Neil (Megan Fox) who has come back to reprise her role in the sequel.

The promo displays the purple Mohawk warthog and a mean mugging rhino, played by Anthony Williams and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. There are many action scenes as the turtle battle them.

Viewers are as well introduced into O'Neil's new love interest, the vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell), famously known as Oliver Queen on The CW's "Arrow."

With explosions, action, CGI film magic, and tongue-in-cheek hilarity associated with the turtles, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" may turn out as successful as the 2014 predecessor that earned more than $493 million worldwide.

Directed by David Green, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" stars Will Arnett, Megan Fox, Noel Fisher, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Tyler Perry, Stephen Amell, Laura Linney, Brian Tee, Gary Anthony Williams, and Sheamus.

The movie is scheduled to hit the theaters on June 3, 2016. Here is the trailer set to Run DMC's "It's Tricky."
