The Micromax subsidiary's Yureka smartphone model was unveiled in December 2014. According to its Amazon page, the Yu Yureka features the 64-Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with an integrated Adreno 405 GPU to power the mobile's graphics. It will also pack an "Accelerated" 2GB DDR3 RAM, which Yureka claims that it will use 30 percent less energy.
It will also be run with the Cyanogen OS 11 operating system, which is a heavily modified version of Google's Android OS.
The Yu Yureka will also sport a 5.5-inches HD IPS scrneen with a 720p pixel resolution and 267 PPI. It is protected by the CORNING GORILLA GLASS 3 with its Oleophobic Coating.
Yureka also boasts a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The rear camera can capture video at 24 FPS. It has an aperture of F 2.2 with a Sony IMX135 CMOS Sensor. Other features include 4G LTE, 3G Connectivity, 2500 mAh battery and microsim support.
Indian Express reports that the phone will also support "rooting," which is similar to "jailbreaking" iPhone devices to further customize the smartphone to the user's liking.
Over three lakh (300,000) registrations for the Yureka smartphone were made during the holiday season, prompting Yu to close the registrations a day earlier, according to Rahul Sharma, a co-founder of Micromax.
