Ford F-150 Raptor

Ford's newest F-150 Raptor looks like it just came out of some futuristic sci-fi films. According to Ford, they are pushing boundaries in developing and designing their most extreme off-road vehicle to ever hit the market and from the looks of it; they might have achieved that it already.

The Ford F-150 Raptor is a 4x4 truck that is built using the all-new high-strength steel frame and a full aluminum body which will greatly decrease its overall weight by around 500 pounds or even more. The F-150 Raptor has a new bumper and is slightly wider compared to the 2015 F-150. Also, Ford announced that the Raptor will have bigger shocks in order to stabilize the truck especially when driving and jumping through the desert.

Ford also throws in some insanely powerful specs under the Raptors hood. It will be released with a V6 3.5liter EcoBoost engine. Unfortunately, drive test figures were not yet released. The new truck will also shift from the current six-speed to a 10-speed automatic transmission. According to Ford, this will give owners a variety of driving ratio in different terrain may that be an uphill rock climb or an all-out desert trail.

Ford claims that what sets the Raptor on top of other 4x4 trucks are its specially built and custom designed suspensions. The Raptor is installed with a larger Fox Racing Shocks and also comes in with a BFGoodrich All Terrain KO2 tire, a perfect combination when it comes to extreme off-road driving.

The Raptor will also be released with a variety of driving modes including, Normal, Street, Mud, Baja and Rock mode. There is also Weather mode for rain, ice and snow.

The F-150 Raptor will go on sale on the third quarter of 2016 and will be built in Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant in Dearborn, MI.
