"Uncharted 4" is now in its closed beta, yet about to run its course, as the multiplayer mode is scheduled to go officially offline on Dec. 13. The game's closed multiplayer beta started on Dec. 4 and ran for a week and a half only and will officially come March 18 next year.
"Uncharted 4's" closed beta mode, however, as reported by Game Rant, can only be accessed by those who were able to purchase the "Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection". Therefore, this is the only chance for those who wish to play the multiplayer prior to the launching of the game.
Unfortunately, this online play may be the last "Uncharted 4" in closed beta. In a comment posted on PlayStation Blog by Arne Meyer of Naughty Dog, the Director of Communications confirmed that the game developer has absolutely no plans to start an open multiplayer beta in the future. Thus, the gaming community has either nothing or the on-going beta for now, until the game releases next year.
Given all the facts, this is not really surprising, as Naughty Dog has a record of not offering an open beta for every game released. "Uncharted 3" for instance, had its closed beta and was only unlocked when players bought the "Infamous 2" or by subscribing to PlayStation Plus. Fortunately, this weekend's online play will be free as part of a promotion.
"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is set to launch on March 18, 2016 on PlayStation 4 exclusive.
