‘Metal Gear Solid V’s’ studio lashed out by Geoff Keighley on 2015 Game Awards, Says Spiel Not Planned [VIDEO]

It appears that Sony's PlayStation 4 is winning the battle over Microsoft's Xbox One, based on sold units.

"Metal Gear Solid V" became the spiel of 2015 Game Awards presenter Geoff Keighley because of the so-called turning down of Konami to allow Hideo Kojima, game director, to participate in the proceedings.

"Metal Gear Solid V's' Kiefer Sutherland received the award for best action game on behalf of Kojima. As disclosed by Keighly through Reddit AMA, the game director was informed by Konami's lawyer that he is forbidden to attend the awards night and accept an award. By now, we already know that such surprising moment was completely unplanned. According to Keighley, something must be said about the incident, yet he knew that this could be interpreted as a hot topic, he decided not to speak about it with anyone.

What remains now is the reason that made Konami resort to this action of disallowing Kojima from accepting awards that night. Keighley is also clueless why Konami would take such a drastic move. But given the removal of the game director from the box art of the game before it was released, it is plain to see that the conflict between the two has been going on for a time now. Some rumors imply that Hideo is presently in the non-compete contract until the end of 2015, Design & Trend reported.

The incident in the recent Game Awards is not actually the only time that Hideo Kojima was prevented from participating in a victory. There was an event before when a public relations representative of Konami was tasked to accept a PlayStation Awards recognition to "Metal Gear Solid V".

"Metal Gear Solid V" is now available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4
