Apple TV Brings Digital Content To The Big Screen

Tech giant Google recently released an update for its Play Movies and TV app for iOS that will allow Apple TV owners to stream contents via AirPlay. Google's recent update will also allow users to stream content over cellular connection so users can watch videos on the go without the need to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

Play Movies and TV app has long support Chromecast devices. Through this, iPhone and iPad users can stream content directly into their HDTV.

Before the release of the new update, Apple TV is not supported. The recent update also marks the first time Google integrates Apple's AirPlay feature.

According to Techno Buffalo, the new update released by Google is only available to the fourth-generation Apple TV and third-generation devices that run on tvOS version 7.0 or newer.

Another major improvement that is part of the update is the ability to stream content through 3G or 4G cellular connections. Before the integration of this feature, Google only allowed users to download content for offline viewing via mobile data but not stream it.

The update also added new user interface improvements. A new "Recommended by Play" section is added. In this section, users can find new movies or TV show recommendation based on their viewing history and interest.

According to Macworld, Google latest update marks that company's slow integration into Apple's territory. Aside from Google, other tech giants are also starting to integrate their services into Apple TV. Rumors claim that Amazon is also working to integrate its own Amazon Instant Video into the tvOS platform.
