‘Saturday Night Live’s’ Kate McKinnon Plays Angela Merkel, Reacts Being Named Time’s 2015 ‘Person Of The Year’

"Saturday Night Live's" Kate McKinnon again played Europe's most powerful leader, Angela Merkel. McKinnon hilariously appeared as the German Chancellor to discuss being named Time Magazine 2015 Person of the Year on the show's long-running Weekend Update segment.

Immediately the news that German Chancellor was the winner of Time's Person of the Year came out, the first thing on viewers' mind was how great Kate McKinnon's inevitable comeback to the Weekend Update desk as a "tiny umail-obsessed" Angela Merkel would be.

Actress McKinnon showed a nervous excitement over emerging the winner of the award to fellow cast-mate Colin Jost, according to Vulture.

Shifting around anxiously in her chair, McKinnon said, "I'm trying to celebrate. My body is rejecting it. It won't let me do it."

Drawing reference to Merkel's years of hardship, the comedian lifted up the Time's Person of the Year award and made a light moment how "Greece wanted to borrow more money. Syria asked if one million refugees could sleep on my couch."

McKinnon displays Merkel weighing in on the difficult year and the way she handled the crisis during the brief sketch. The actress acknowledged that the year 2015 has not been the easiest year.

When asked about how presidential aspirant Donald Trump did not think Merkel deserved to be named the Time's Person of the Year, actress McKinnon pointed out that most likely Trump "prefers our earlier stuff."

Saturday night's episode as well featured actor Chris Hemsworth who was the host and Will Ferrell coming back to reprise his famous role as former President George W. Bush.
