Toyota unveiled its new 2016 Tacoma pickup during the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.
The midsize truck is an upgrade from its 2015 predecessor. According to Auto Blog, the new 2016 Toyota Tacoma is now fitted with a 3.5 liter V6 engine, instead of the past 4.0 one. Its new V6 engine is expected to give about 279 horsepower and a torque of 250 pound0feet.
The 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road includes a new "Multi-Terrain Select" system, which allows the driver to switch between different settings for the pickup's break sensitivity and throttle to help keep traction for various surfaces, Auto Mobile Mag reported.
A Crawl Control system and a locking rear differential is also included in the TRD Off-Road package.
The 3.5 liter V-6 engine will also be available, but only for manual drivers. For automatic drivers, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma can only come with the 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, which is identically and basically the same as with its predecessor.
Another upgrade can be seen from the pickup's rear. Instead of the normal badge plastered on its tailgate, the "Tacoma" name is directly embossed on the sheet metal.
The Japanese automotive manufacturer also put safety features in the new Tacoma, including rear cross-traffic alert and the blind-spot monitoring.
The 2016 Toyota Tacoma also comes with a mount just beside the rearview mirror that will hold a GoPro camera, which is usually used to record adventurous videos. The new Tacoma's price range may be between $21,000 and $30,000, according to NY Daily News.
