Google has had different manufacturers for its Nexus smartphone brand.

In 2015, Google has innovated by releasing two devices: one at 5.2 inches and one at 5.7 inches. The 5.2 inch model, Nexus 5X is made by LG and the larger device, the Nexus 6P is made by Huawei.

The Chinese manufacturer Huawei is the newest Google partner but the LG Nexus 5X is already the third Google device by the Korean OEM.

But why did Google choose to release two devices (and most likely, a trend they may keep in the future) in one year? One explanation is that some users were not pleased with the last release, the Motorola made Nexus 6 which was more of a phablet. Thus, they decided to give consumers some options.

Tech site BGR has another theory to address why Google decided to assign the job to two different manufacturers. "One possible answer is that Google is trying to work with all its Android partners on Nexus programs, and that's why it chose Huawei for the phablet."

On that note, Phone Arena ran a poll among its readers to vote on "Who should make the next Google Nexus device?"

The winner turned out to be Sony. Sony is the only major manufacturer to not have a shot at the Nexus as HTC, Samsung, LG and Motorola have had their shot. Among 17 manufacturers listed and Google itself as a separate entry, Sony took  24.81% while Samsung was second with 19%.

Sony had ceased manufacturing their laptops-the Sony VAIO line to focus on their mobile devices. The Japanese manufacturer has been known for producing quality hardware but falters in other aspects like software and camera.

In the comments section, it was appealed that Google should try and help Sony, whose mobile phone division has not been as profitable. It is definitely a major brand who deserves their shot.
