Hideo Kojima has been the talk of the town quite recently.

Konami, a Japanese game developer has been all over the news this year but mostly for incorrect reasons. Reports about the said company spreaded like wildfire that it puts its employees to prison-like working environment, unbelievable restrictions, and regular video monitoring as well as demotions to custodial staff.

However, the company's most controversial news focused on the Hideo Kojima, the mastermind behind the creation of the "Metal Gear franchise." "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," was released this year. Konami decided to get rid of Kojima and his studio, known as Kojima Productions from the "The Phantom Pain's" marketing materials and later disbanded the studio together with its American counterpart.

When reports circulated about Kojima left the company in October, Konami denied it. They claimed that the game director was just on a vacation. However, during The Game Awards 2015, Kojima was not present to accept the Best Action/Adventure Game award and Geoff Keighley, they host of the event revealed in public that Konami's legal team would not let Kojima to go on trips as he was still under their company.

Kojima is no longer working with Konami and may already busy establishing his own studio, Japan's Nikkei reported. The seasoned game developer and a couple of former employees from Kojima Productions plan to open a new studio. Reports also mentioned that Kojima has started negotiating with Sony for their first debut game launch on PlayStation.

Hideo Kojima, with his new freedom outside his previous company, there is no reason he and his team could not develop a game that is equally compelling with his creations before, Screen Rant reported.
