‘Attack On Titan’ Manga Volume 18 Tops Japan’s Weekly Manga Sales Chart

"Attack of Titan” season 1 is set to re-air on Jan. 9, 2016.

"Attack on Titan" Manga Volume 18 emerged as the bestseller comic book in Japan's weekly sales chart.

Released on Dec. 9, the 463-yen regular edition of 18th volume of Hajime Isayama's manga series "Attack on Titan" aced the weekly chart for manga sales with 969,743 copies, according to Crunchy Roll. Its 1,944-yen limited edition with a Santa version Nendroloid Petite figure of Eren sold 56,279 units, grabbing the 14th spot.

The 17th volume of "Attack on Titan," which was released in August, sold 771,157 copies in its first week. In addition, the 1,058-yen limited edition of "Attack on Titan" volume 17 and Kansai Dialect version volume 1 also sold 133,306 copies in its first week.

Overall, "Attack on Titan" volume 18 sold more copies that volume 17, which was approximately 1.03 million versus the latter's estimated 900,000. Comparing the given figures, it can be noted that the sales values for "Attack on Titan" volume 18 demonstrated a huge leap since the release of its most recent predecessor.

"Attack on Titan" follows man-eating colossal creatures called Titans. Sharing the world with these giants, man built massive walls; however, the monsters managed to break the walls a hundred years later.

Follwing the destruction of the walls, the Titans sent their fellow monsters to man's refuge and killed human race, including Ere Jaeger's mother. Determined, Jaeger promised himself to kill every Titan, even until their last kind.

With regard the film adapations, "Attack of Titan" season 1 is scheduled for a satellite broadcast run on Jan. 9, 2016 while season 2 is rumored for a February 2016 release, according to Fandom Post.
