Manny Pacquiao's next fight may be his last and his team is taking their time in choosing his opponent.

PacMan was supposed to make his announcement in Puerto Rico on December 11 but a spokesman later announced that the eight-division champion was not ready to make his choice.

In a report by Boxing News 24, Adrien Broner, known as "The Problem" has been floated as a possible opponent for Pacquiao. He is currently the WBA World Light Welterweight champion.

"Manny Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz is saying that WBA World light welterweight champion Adrien Broner (31-2, 23 KOs) is one of the possibilities for Pacquiao's next fight on April 9th in 2016," wrote BN24's Chris Williams.

The article stated that Broner was often compared to Floyd Mayweather, Jr and he might serve as a "proxy" for Money, and "by facing the Mayweather imitator in Broner, Pacquiao would be able to avenge the loss that he suffered to Mayweather earlier this year in May."

While that is an interesting storyline, it is also speculated that Broner was considered because he might be a bigger draw compared to the other three possible opponents named.

Koncz was quoted: There's no rush. We are not giving a strict timetable. I can't tell exactly when because the fight's in April (anyway)."

Top Rank head Bob Arum is anxious for Pacquiao's decision so he can market the fight, but he told PhilStar that the April 9 schedule will push through with or without the Filipino boxing icon.

"That is my concrete plan, April 9th," Arum stated. "I'm going with a show in Las Vegas, hopefully headed by Manny Pacquiao. If not we'll find talent to go on. But April 9th we're definitely going ahead at the MGM Grand Arena."
