Leaks are now coming out of what’s in store for the future Samsung Galaxy handset iteration, the Samsung Galaxy S7.

Samsung Galaxy S7 release date is reportedly slated in February at the Mobile World Congress happening on Feb. 22-25, 2016.

The new Samsung Galaxy S7 release date rumors were prompted by an internal presentation from world's largest carrier China Mobile. One of the slides showed that the handset will be launched in February next year, according to Slashgear. Based on Samsung's track record, the smartphone will be available for sale a month after its launch.

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge released earlier this year were announced in March and were available for sale in April. The 10-month cycle is nothing unusual for the South Korean tech giant, which is eager to introduce a myriad of devices throughout the year.

Samsung Galaxy S7 is not the first smartphone leaked by the network China Mobile. The same presentation revealed Apple's iPhone 6C release date in April 2016, according to MyDrivers.

Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S7 is reportedly more expensive than its predecessor as the new generation of Galaxy S line will include an iris scanner, according to Android Headlines.

Android Origin reported that Samsung Galaxy S7 will make use of magnesium alloy to make the smartphone's body more durable. It is also one of the best materials in dissipating heat, which is the same concept used by Apple in iPhones. Apple makes use of a combination of zinc and magnesium with aluminum.

Other Samsung Galaxy S7 alleged specs and features leaked online thanks to AnTuTu benchmark. Based on the benchmark, the handset will be powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset contrary to the previous reports that the handset will be equipped with Exynos 8890 processor. The processor will be paired with 4GB of RAM, which is above current standards.

Other purported features of Samsung Galaxy S7 are 5.7-inch display, 16MP rear-facing camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera. These features are slightly below the previously reported specifications of the handset. Previous rumors claimed that the smartphone will pack a 5.8-inch screen panel and 20MP ISOCELL rear-facing camera.
