The Nintendo 2DS Limited Packs have been announced by the Japanese gaming giant and will be released in 2016. This is in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the first set of "Pokémon" games.

The Nintendo 2DS Limited Packs was announced on the "Pokemon" official Japanese website. Four "Pokémon"-themed consoles will be rolled out on a limited release. Gamers will have four color options that mirror the first titles in the franchise, namely green, blue, red and yellow to resemble Pikachu. These games were first released for the Game Boy gaming console two decades ago, and they will be pre-installed in the new limited edition 2DS units. The game color will match the game console's.

The Nintendo 2DS Pokémon limited packs, which comes with a matching body and game colors, will also come with other perks including a poster that shows the map of the Kanto region and stickers. The home menu is also "Pokémon"-inspired, which fans will surely appreciate, Polygon reported.

Gamers who get hold of the limited pack will also receive "Pokémon Mew." The download code for this rare "Pokémon" is compatible with the Virtual Console version as well as with "Pokémon X," "Pokémon Y," "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire."

The Nintendo 2DS "Pokémon" limited packs will be released in Japan on Feb. 27, 2016, but no international release has yet been announced.

In addition, Nintendo also announced in November that the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console will be enjoying "Pokémon Red," "Pokémon Blue," "Pokémon Yellow" and "Pokémon Green," although the latter is for Japan only. This will also be released on Feb. 27, 2016,
