A dinner at the Olive Garden on New Year's Eve will cost $400 per person at Times Square. The deal will include a buffet meal, open bar, and DJ, but no unlimited salad and breadsticks. Guests can also get a limited view of the ball dropping on Times Square at midnight.

The menu will include short ribs, chicken con broccoli, shrimp primavera, eggplant parmesan, chicken marsala, mashed potatoes, and garden vegetables.  However, the family restaurant's famous bottomless bucket of breadsticks will be absent from the menu.

There will also be a few key rules during the New Year's Eve event. Guests will not be allowed to leave the restaurant, t-shirts and sneakers are not permitted, and diners will be seated on a first come-first serve basis, after which only standing room will be available to New Year's Eve celebrants.

The $400 ticket at Olive Garden will include a five-hour party that starts at 8 p.m., according to CNN. At midnight the Italian-style eatery will provide a champagne toast.

Other family restaurants will also be offering sky-high prices on New Year's Eve. They include Ruby Tuesdays ($349 to $1,699) and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. ($799).

Applebee's is charging $375 for adults and $250 for kids to ring in the New Year at their restaurant. Ironically, it usually charges $10 for a steak.

New York City has become famous for being the most expensive place in the United States on New Year's Eve. In fact, people in the Big Apple will spend almost $600 per person for dinner and a show on December 31, according to AL.
