The concept popularly known as the Internet of Things (IoT) or The Internet of Everything is inevitable and experts believe that it will change the world in a way not yet experienced by the human race before.

According to Wired, a research launched by Juniper predicted that there will be more than 38 billion interconnected devices by the year 2020. The same research launched by IDC predicted it will be 20.9 billion. Gartner predicted 25 billion devices will be connected.

Despite a huge gap in results, experts agree that the number is still massive by today's standards. The researchers also agree that majority of connected gadgets and devices will be industrial. Experts also agree that there will be a massive surge in the application of Internet of Things in order to boost production as well as research and development.

Since the start of the decade, experts already predicted that Internet of Things will play a crucial role in almost every aspect of life. So far, 2015 is the year that almost every facet of society started to make plans, lay groundwork and build infrastructure to support Internet of Things.

The Internet of Things dominated the personal devices market, like smartphone and smart wearable devices. The concept is slowly entering the phase where it will be integrated into home appliances. The market is already flooded with products like connected light bulbs, connected TVs, connected coffeemakers and even connected cars.

According to Tech Crunch, in 2016 the main focus will shift from creating new connected products into upgrading security and privacy protocols of these products.
