Jordan Crawford (#27) drives past Cleveland Cavaliers superstar Kyrie Irving during his stint with the Boston Celtics back in 2013.

Former National Basketball Association player Jordan Crawford fired 72 points in a Chinese Basketball Association game on Friday during Tianjin Ronggang Gold Lions' 113-104 loss to the Sichuan Blue Whales.

The 27-year-old combo guard, now playing for Tianjin Ronggang in the CBA, nearly doubled his NBA scoring-high record after his impressive show, according to ESPN.

However, even with Crawford's sterling performance, his team was still not able to pull off the win as the Gold Lions drop to a dismal 5-23 record after the match.

The former Golden State Warrior made 25-of-52 field goals, including 4-of-12 from beyond the three-point arc and 18-of-20 free throw shooting en route to the high-scoring feat.

Crawford was selected 27th overall by the New Jersey Nets in the 2010 NBA Draft but was later traded to the Atlanta Hawks where he debuted as an NBA rookie in that year.

He was then traded to the Washington Wizards in February 2011 where he played three seasons before being traded again to the Boston Celtics two years later.

His last stint in the NBA was with Golden State in January 2014, where he scored 41 points in the Warriors last game of the regular season coming off the bench, as per Sports Illustrated.

Crawford suited up for five games in two months for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers later that year before going back to the NBA Developmental League for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the Indiana Pacers D-League squad, where he averaged 24.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 14 appearances.

Despite the addition of the four-year NBA veteran, Tianjin Ronggang had been struggling the entire 2015-2016 CBA season. The team lost again on Sunday, 105-95, to the 13th-placed Qingdao Eagles for their third straight loss.
