There are speculations that the much-delayed "Winds of Winter" release may happen just in time for the "Game of Thrones" Season 7.
"Game of Thrones" Season 6 is going to air on HBO beginning on April 24. Fans were hoping that the much-anticipated book release would happen before the Season 6 premiere, as then the book and the television series would have had been in sync.
However, the book is still far from completion, as confirmed by the author George R. R. Martin on his blog Live Journal. Martin wrote, "'The Winds of Winter' is not finished. Believe me; it gave me no pleasure to type those words. You're disappointed, and you're not alone."
He said that besides the readers, his publishers, agents, translators, HBO channel and his editors are also bitterly disappointed with the inordinate delay in finishing the book.
In other news, the upcoming "Game of Thrones" Season 6 is in the news for being an earth-shattering and epic season. Various cast members have also confirmed that it is the biggest season until now.
Emilia Clarke, who is well known as the "Mother of Dragons," revealed in an interview to E! Online that the upcoming season is going to be spectacular. She also revealed that it was quite a challenge for the actors to shoot for Season 6, as it "legitimately almost killed" the actors and the crew as well.
Reports indicate that Maisie Williams, who portrays the character of Arya in the show will become blind in the upcoming season. She will be seen wearing blind contacts throughout the season, even though it is a personally difficult task for her.
Speculations are also rife that Sophie Turner who essays the role of Sansa Stark will see a number of twists and turns in the upcoming season of the show. The sixth season may be the most powerful season for the demure actress, till date.
There are speculations that Jon Snow will rise from the dead and take revenge from Ramsay Bolton. Spoilers indicate that, he may also take up the name of "Stark" and become the heir of Rob Stark.
