'The Flash' season 2 will feature the return of Pied Piper, a Gorilla City episode soon and a new trailer featuring Zoom unmasking himself to the Scarlet Speedster.
"Smash" star Andy Mientus will be reprising his role as Hartley Rathaway/ Pied Piper in episode 17 of "The Flash" season 2 as the plot synopsis will likely see Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) in another time-travel adventure and Pied Piper will wreak havoc to Team Flash once again, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Hartley Rathaway was once a scientist in S.T.A.R. Labs and helped build the particle accelerator with his mentor Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh), who is Eobard Thawne/Revese-Flash (Matt Letscher) at the time before he was kicked out for discovering a flaw in the particle accelerator. As a result of the particle accelerator explosion, Rathaway became a metahuman and his hearing was damaged in the process.
Meanwhile, a new trailer of "The Flash" season 2 will feature the show's current main antagonist Zoom (Tony Todd) unmasking himself in front of Barry Allen/The Flash, thus finally revealing who he is in Earth 2, Screenrant reported.
Zoom's identity in "The Flash" season 2 has been the subject of many fan speculations and theories from comicbook characters like Hunter Zolomon and Edward Clariss/The Rival to the Earth 2 versions of charactets in the show like Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett), Henry Allen (John Wesley Shipp) and even Barry Allen.
Cavanagh already teased who Zoom really is during an episode of DC All Access and statd that it will be "awesome". Gustin tweeted that episode 14 will "blow everyone's minds" possibly indicating that Zoom will reveal who he is.
The trailer also features Earth 2 Barry Allen and Iris West-Allen helping Earth 2 Harrison Wells and Cisco Ramon/Vibe (Carlos Valdes) working to together to find Zoom's lair and rescue The Flash and Jesse Chambers Wells (Violette Beane). "Arrow" characters John and Lyla Diggle (David Ramsey and Audrey Marie Anderson) will also make guest appearance in the show as they need Team Flash's help in capturing Earth 2 King Shark.
Lastly, YouTube channel Emergency Awesome theorized that Gorilla Grodd and Gorilla city could be featured again in "The Flash" as someone from show's production crew has connections for the props used in "Planet of the Apes" film.
The production team will likely borrow these props and used a mixture of ape costumes and CGI for the Gorilla City episode since doing full CGI on the gorillas already cost heavily in the show's budget. The said episode could be a two-part special and will introduce Solovar in the show.
"The Flash" will return on Tuesday 8pm on the CW Network.
