Many deals have occurred in NBA ahead of Thursday, Feb. 26, trade deadline, but there is no move for Cleveland Cavaliers yet.
Central to the many rumors is that Cavs, believed to be one of the most active teams, are soliciting for someone to improve their great bench. According to Yahoo! Sports, Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski said that the latest target for the Cavs is Orlando stretch-forward Channing Frye.
However, there seems to be stiff competition for the flexible big man, with the Los Angeles Clippers negotiating and probably finalizing something by the end of Wednesday.
Wojnarowski said, "Frye is enthusiastic about the chance to join the Clippers. Nevertheless, Cleveland also has been discussing a deal for Frye, and could still be aggressive in pursuing him prior to completion of a Clippers trade. The Clippers need to include Lance Stephenson's contract into the package for Frye, and told the Magic they need until Wednesday to finish pursuing what it is a long-shot larger deal."
The possible move between the Clippers and magic would include guards C.J. Wilcox and Lance Stephenson, who the Magic would wish to move away in the near future.
Frye has a close relationship with Cavs general Manager David Griffins based on their interaction in Phoenix, something that would give the Cavs an upper hand with Frye's capability to stretch the three-point line.
Such floor spacing is something that Cavs desire, and it is not likely with the bigger Timofey Mozgov.
Meanwhile, Cleveland Cavaliers and many other teams have been associated with Suns flexible forward, Markieff Morris, although the price tag remains high.
Sam Amick said via Twitter that amid Morris' off-the-court concerns and the most recent incident - shoving teammate Archie Goodwin - the Suns are committed to get a first-round draft pick along with a young player to assist in the team's comeback.
In other news, Milwaukee could be targeting a new point guard according to the scouts in attendance for the Bucks' final match before the All-Star break, according to Journal Times.
