While many wrestling writers had considered Roman Reigns a lock to secure a date with Triple H in the main event of Wrestlemania 32, there are now rumblings that WWE creative are already changing the script, and Dean Ambrose may end up sneaking in with the victory in the Triple Threat headliner at Fastlane.

Bleacher Report pro-wrestling writer Alfred Konuwa was bullish in answering questions regarding the upcoming WWE pay-per-view event in his latest mailbag entry.

One of the queries is about how does losing the Intercontinental Championship in the final Raw episode before Fastlane affect Ambrose's chance in his triple-threat showdown with Reigns and Brock Lesnar. Konuwa believes it tells a lot.

Bleacher Report:

After dropping the Intercontinental Championship on Raw, Dean Ambrose's chances of winning at WWE Fastlane have increased. This is a smart move by WWE, as history dictates intercontinental champions do not main event WrestleManias.

By entering the Triple Threat match without the Intercontinental Championship, Ambrose is suddenly more of a sleeper to win the match at Fastlane and head to WrestleMania. While this choice may be popular with some fans, it would hurt the buildup to WrestleMania 32, as WWE would have to start from scratch with another feud.

An Ambrose win over Reigns and Lesnar (who is not expected to win because of his feud with Bray Wyatt) would not only improve the superstar's stocks but also provide an unforgettable moment for a PPV event that is only in its second year after it replaced the more popular Elimination Chamber PPV show.

However, like Konuwa stressed, there are pros and cons should this scenario take place. It's true WWE creative will have to work all over again to build up Ambrose vs. Triple H Wrestlemania main header, but in the end, the biggest loser here would be Reigns.

Kunuwa considers it a potential game-changer for Reigns, whom the WWE are trying hard to groom into the next face of the franchise. This series of events has basically turned Fastlane main event from predictable to a complete toss-up.
