Here is the Android 6.0 M release news for Samsung Galaxy S5, Note Edge, S5 Neo, S6 Duos, Note 4, Note 5, S6 Edge Plus, S6 and Tab S2 8.0.
According to latest reports, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 are now receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. However, the latest update could come later depending on a user's carrier such as T-Mobile, US Cellular, Sprint, AT&T and Verizon.
Users who have Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge or Galaxy S6 should go to their 'Settings' menu and see if the update is available for an over-the-air download.
Some reports suggest that these two devices are getting the Android Marshmallow update throughout the world. Also, according to a SamMobile report, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update has arrived to these flagship models.
Devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy S5 will get the update in March and April. Furthermore Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will get the update in early March.
Various reports indicate that Galaxy S5 LTE-A, S5 Neo, S6 Duos and Note 4 Duos will get the Android Marshmallow update in Q1 2016.
Other reports indicate that the Tab S2 8.0, Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Alpha will get the Android M update in Q2 2016. Unfortunately, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 will not get the latest Marshmallow update.
Meanwhile, Telus, a carrier in Canada, has revealed a release date of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software for many Android devices.
According to the Canadian carrier, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus owners on Telus will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on March 9. The carrier will issue a security update for the Nexus devices on March 9.
Furthermore, the Canadian carrier will roll out the software update for the LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge on March 16. However, users of Samsung Galaxy S6 will get the Android Marshmallow update on April 13.
The new update brings in several new features. Android Marshmallow introduces a few enhanced security features, enhances user control over apps and offers some battery saving features.
