As rumors fire up that Google will work with HTC in producing a Nexus 2016 flagship, the Taiwanese device maker has decided to give a more detailed glimpses of what could prove as the best and next Nexus base-model - the HTC 10. The teasing campaign on Twitter indicates the coming of a likely Pure Android kit that can take on the leading flagships out there.

The device in subject is simply named as HTC 10, according to @evleaks, also known as Evan Blass, declaring that:

The post from Blass, who normally is a source of accurate gadget leaks, seems to establish a new path for HTC as the company is said to be dropping the One and M labels from its flagship line to purportedly focus on the number sequence, just like how Apple and Google name their signature phones. And with the name of the next HTC hero phone all but revealed, images of the device are certainly expected to hit the web and @OnLeaks obliged with a post that showcased the new kit in prototype stage and accompanied by power specs worthy of a flagship (and yes of being repurposed too as the next Nexus later on).


In response, Blass practically confirmed that the HTC 10 is all geared up to slide out of the box with another post that showed off a rocking device, which appears to have borrowed the rounded corners of the iPhone 6S and physical home key of the Galaxy S7. The curved back plate, on the other hand, resembles that of the Moto X 2015 and the LG G4.


As BGR has observed in a report, the HTC 10 is a hybrid smartphone that was inspired by its maker's previous flagships plus the iPhone 6S and GS7 in terms of build and design.

Yet the device specifications are even more impressive, likely to please not only the Android crowd but the maker too of Nexus flagships. The 5.2-inch screen beams in Quad HD and screams of AMOLED display tech. How the HTC 10 works is all determined by the powerful Snapdragon 820 that likely will be paired with RAM provision of no less than 3GB given the current flagship standard.

On the camera side, the main shooter packs a 12-megapixel sensor that according to 9to5Google is the same Sony sensor used in the Nexus 6P rear camera or its upgraded version. The same camera system also includes a dual-LED flash and laser autofocus.

The 9to5Google report also noted that the HTC 10 appears all set to unbox not only as a solid device inside and out but also with a relatively hefty profile, which indicates that this Google Nexus 2016 candidate on release date will unpack with a massive battery. For smartphone users who care for the feature, that would mean longer battery life.
