The recently concluded events, such as CES in January and Mobile World Congress in February, did not feature any latest smartwatch that may set the trend for 2016. Although there are several new products that were presented in these events, not much was talked about when it comes to the wearable platform. Hence, there are speculations saying that Apple Watch 2, which will be released in March 2016, will set the trend for wearable products this year.
It can be noted that Switzerland watchmaker MyKronoz offered few smartwatches during the said events, but with lesser innovation than what was expected. The smartwatches presented are fairly incomparable to the typical Android wearable. Although some companies are thriving to produce notable wearable, they are still unable to meet what top makers like Apple, Samsung, LG and others have established.
Technology and budget wise, these smaller companies would have difficulty in reaching the innovations that known companies have already founded.
It should be noted that smartwatches comes in different sizes, designs, models, and most important of all aspects, the price. In terms of price, Apple is the most expensive of all wearable products that are out in the market; however, no matter how pricey it is, Apple watches is considered a top selling product. These classy watches got two-thirds of the total sales of smartwatches for the whole of 2015. It is said that Apple watches are not only known as the most expensive watch in the market, but it is also reportedly the most complicated to navigate of all smartwatches.
Meanwhile, although no information was denied or confirmed, the rumored Apple Watch 2 may be released this March, and is said to set the newest wearable trend, according to Digital Trends.
Apple's upcoming event on March 15 is rumored to be the venue where the Apple Watch 2 will be announced. There are also speculations saying that the Apple Watch 2 may be released later this year, and may sport an enhanced appearance plus better battery life. Consumers are also hoping that the waterproof feature of this second generation watch will be improved with a sleeker wearable, added by Vine Report.
On other news, competitors like Guess Connect and MyKronoz have presented their version of wearable platforms during the Mobile World Congress in February, in which, these companies reiterated that consumers, or at least people who are not comfortable using Apple Watches, are looking for simplicity and cost-effective smartwatches. However, all these statements from these companies do not mean that they have the key to be on top of the wearable market. It is said that Fossil and TAG Heuer will also be releasing their version of the Android wearable this 2016.
