The upcoming "Gear of War 4" is set 25 years after the events of "Gear of War 3." The game has many characters, some of which are voiced by actors from "Dragon Ball Z" and "Spartacus."
According to Game Informer, "Gear of War 4" storyline features JD Fenix, Kait Diaz, and Delmont "Del" Walker as the main characters. Fenix is the son of the long-time series protagonist Marcus Fenix, Diaz is a survivalist who grew up outside JD's walled-off world, while Del is one of JD's best friends from boarding school and the army.
A mysterious military incident sees Del and JD finding themselves in the wild, which is Diaz's territory where the game starts. However, the game will not go far without some of the talented voice actors. As a result, developer The Coalition had tapped three renowned video game and TV actors to portray the main characters of "Gear of War 4."
Diaz is played by Laura Bailey, who voiced Kid Trunks in "Dragon Ball Z," Spartan Olympia Vale in "Halo 5: Guardians," and Fiona in "Tales from the Borderlands" among other roles. Del's voice is played by Eugene Byrd, who plays Marcus "Boomer" Boone in "Battlefield Hardline" and has recurring roles on "Bones" and "Arrow" TV shows. JD, on the other hand, is voiced by Liam McIntyre, the lead character of "Spartacus" series and has a role as Weather Wizard on "The Flash."
Although The Coalition is set to introduce largely new characters, it does not mean that the original Gears known by fans will not appear in the game. Much that has been unveiled in the game is oddly familiar just like "The Force Awakens" would seem to those who have seen "A New Hope."
Diaz is the most interesting character about the new reveal, according to Kotaku. She is the first playable character who is not actually a Gear, having been born and raised an "Outsider." Considering she is a survivalist, Diaz most likely encounters two generic Gears when they are compelled to seek refuge among the Outsiders.
