"Hawaii Five-0" Season 6 episode 18 will not be airing this Friday, March 18. A new report revealed that fans of the CBS series will have to wait a bit longer to watch what happened after episode 17, "Waiwai," to make room for the NCAA basketball season. It has also been rumored that the show will be canceled after season 7 due to its poor ratings.
According to Cartermatt, no new episode of "Hawaii Five-0" will be airing this Friday. The outlet speculated that the show will return on April 1. According to the official synopsis, next episode will feature Five-0 as they attempt to uncover a deadly slave trade operating aboard an illegal fishing vessel.
Elsewhere, Danny's (Scott Caan) will get stolen during a day out with his kids, which forces him to hijack a bus and chase after the thieves.
In a separate report, while the publication admitted that "Hawaii Five-0" Season 6 has been performing quite well compared to others in the same Friday timeslot, the outlet speculated that the CBS series may only be good up until another more season. It was said that the network may end up canceling the show after season 7.
Although this has yet to be confirmed, it was said that the cast's contract may last for another season. That said, the network producers would not have to worry about any upcoming salary negotiations. This is quite important, as several deals had fallen out in the past due to misunderstandings in this aspect.
The ratings of "Hawaii Five-0," while far from stellar, is also not something to look down on. The outlet reported that each episode would draw in an average of nine million viewers.
"If CBS can find a way to further showcase that older viewers outside the 18-49 demographic are important, this show may not be in any danger at all."
The publication believed that there is a "moderate" chance that CBS will renew "Hawaii Five-0." If the network decided to cancel a few of its shows, including "Code Black," "CSI: Cyber," "The Good Wife" and "The Amazing Race," then the possibility of renewal increases. That said, however, Carter Matt held that they would not be surprised if season 7 will be the show's last.
"Hawaii Five-0" Season 6 airs Fridays on CBS.
