The 32nd wrestling pay-per-view "WrestleMania" event will apparently go somewhat more pop this year. Recently, World Wresting Entertainment revealed that the pop sensation girl group Fifth Harmony is expected to light up the upcoming event with its show-stopping opening performance.
The musical girl group has been tapped to open this year's sports-entertainment event by performing the American patriotic song titled "America the Beautiful" in front of millions of people at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on April 3.
"We are so excited to be a part of this year's 'WrestleMania!'," Fifth Harmony said in a statement released by WWE. "It's such an honor to be chosen to perform at one of WWE's biggest events. We can't wait to see everyone in Arlington!"
The WWE is apparently doing their best to make sure that the upcoming event will be a successful one. The 32nd "WrestleMania" is set to be the biggest pay-per-view in the company's history.
There are already nine matches confirmed for the upcoming event including an interesting 7-man Ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship including Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn vs Dolph Ziggler vs Zack Ryder vs Sin Cara vs The Miz vs Stardust, Wrestle Zone reported. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will also be around when the spectacle event unfolds.
The professional wrestling company has a long tradition of welcoming the world's popular artists that would serve as the event's opening act. That said, WWE's Music Group Senior VP and General Manager Neil Lawi is confident that Fifth Harmony will continue the company's great tradition and he is looking forward to the group's much-anticipated performance.
Fifth Harmony will join other big names in the music industry such as John Legend, Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin, who slayed an epic performance in the past WrestleMania event.
