Both Apple and Microsoft's flagship laptops have been updated only a few months ago. The latest 13-inch MacBook Pro came out in March 2015 and the 15-inch version became available in May 2015, while Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 was released in the market in October 2015.

Despite this, tech enthusiasts are already looking towards the release of newer Apple and Microsoft laptops. Both companies have yet to confirm much about their upcoming unveilings; however, speculations about the Surface Pro 5 and the MacBook Pro 2016 have already made its way online.

Specifications and Hardware

According to Mac World, the Macbook Pro 2016 would likely be powered by Skylake processors, which would increase the battery life of the laptop by two hours. The device would be running on El Capitan and would be equipped with Retina display.

Moreover, there are some rumors that the Macbook 2016 would have a touch enabled screen, which might even be detachable like the Surface Pro.

Likewise, Tech Radar reported that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 should have a longer battery life. Furthermore, while the screen of the Surface Pro 4 is already at an impressive 2,736 X 1,824 pixels, the publication claims that the upcoming model would hopefully be equipped with a 4k screen.

Finally, rivaling with the MacBook Pro 2016, the Surface Pro 5 should finally be equipped with a USB type-C port.

Price

At present, the latest version of the Macbook Pro sells between $1,299 to 1,999 depending on size, storage space and processor. It is speculated that the 2015 model would be sold at a discounted price once the new versions come out, which is rumored to be priced at $1,500 for the 13-inch MacBook Pro 2016 and $2,800 for the 15-inch MacBook Pro 2016.

As for the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, it is likely that the upcoming version of the Microsoft laplet will have a price tag of at least $899. This, however, is only an estimate based on Microsoft's previous pricing behaviour.

Release Date

MacBook enthusiasts were undoubtedly disappointed when no news about the Apple laptop was rolled out during the company's March launch event; however, reports suggest that the MacBook Pro 2016 should arrive by June, during WWDC event.

According to Release Date Portal, Microsoft Surface Pro 5, on the other hand, should be launched by either June or October.
