The entire basketball world awaits the answer to the question: Which team will sign Kevin Durant in the summer?

No one knows for sure, and maybe not even Kevin Durant himself. But he does have a game plan, and there may be conditions hinged on certain outcomes.  Apparently, Kendrick Perkins is privy to KD's plans, as he seems like one of the most liked teammates anywhere he goes.

Even LeBron James and the Cavs are looking for an enforcer like Perkins, short of saying that they miss him. Perkins is now with James' rival Durant and he shares some insights on the most intriguing question in hoops with Chris Forsberg of ESPN.

"As a friend, I try not to talk to him too much about free agency," Perkins condided. "I always try to just want to talk to him about things outside of basketball. We talk about personal life and stuff like that. And I know he's getting this question every day on the hour and stuff like that, so I try not to bother him."

Perkins does not leave us with nothing, though: "But he did shoot some teams out there that he made me sign a confidentiality form that I couldn't tell nobody. He's got a few teams that he will be looking at."

The money question for Perkins-is Boston part of those few teams? "You're trying to get me to really answer the question," Perkins said. "I can't answer that. I want to, but I can't. I mean, I don't know. I do know, but I don't know."

The Celtics are suddenly a dark horse in the Durant sweepstakes as they are the team that broke the Golden State Warriors' home winning streak. Durant wants to win a title and it seems like all roads have to pass through Steph Curry's crew. If the Celtics can win without Durant (or any superstar), imagine what they could do with one of the best players in the world.

Aside from the Boston possibility, there are other important takeaways on what Perkins said, although they're probably not new for those following all developments on this issue, as NBC writer Kurt Helin recounted.

"How the Thunder do in the playoffs matters a lot," Helin elaborated. "Reach the Finals, he stays. Get bounced in the second round by San Antonio and things are certainly more up in the air. What happens if the Thunder beat the Spurs but lose to the Warriors in six or seven games? This is not as simple as just 'Finals or I'm gone' as some make it out to be."

The reference was a rumor more than a month ago floated by Joel Meyers, an announcer of the New Orleans Pelicans who declared that it's "NBA Finals or bust" for KD.

It's still not the consequential reveal and that probably won't happen soon, but free agency is on Kevin Durant's mind and he's taking opinions on it, including that of Kendrick Perkins.
