Various "Winds of Winter" spoilers indicate that Bran and Arya may die. Also, Arya is not expected to get any superpowers before her demise.
Author George R. R. Martin is popular for bumping out characters for no rthyme and reason in his books. He is expected to continue the trend with the upcoming book, which may have a fatal ending for Bran and his sister Arya. On the other hand, Jon Snow may be brought back from the dead, according to iDigital Times.
It was rumored last year that "Winds of Winter" will be released in March 2016, before the show's premiere. However, due to an extremely busy schedule, Martin was not able to finish the book on time.
"Winds of Winter" is expected to be released by the end of the year. With nothing confirmed regarding the official release date of the book, readers are hoping that the highly delayed book will be released at least before Christmas.
It is already a well-established fact that the HBO series "Game of Thrones" is way ahead of the book series. HBO officially announced that "Game of Thrones" Season 6 will premiere on 24th April, which seems to be right on schedule till now.
Hence, in order for the book readers to enjoy the next book, Martin will need to make the plot different from the series. According to iDigital Times, he wants to add numerous plots and angles to the book, which are not present in the show.
In this manner, Martin may be trying to cover up the fact that he was not able to finish the book on time, and also to give readers a reason to look forward to the much-delayed book. He also cancelled two convention appearances, and many other press conferences in order to entirely focus on finishing "Winds of Winter."
He may also partner with another writer, so as to finish the book soon. He also hinted that this book will see a character, who is shown dead in the TV show. Hence, the ending of the book will be very different to the TV series.
