Lowly clubs West Bromwich Albion FC (10-12-10, 40 points) and Watford FC (10-14-8, 38 points) will try to improve their 2015-2016 Premier League season records as the English top flight slowly winds down to its last few matchdays. The two teams are set to meet at the Hawthorns this Saturday, April 16th.
West Brom is now at the 14th spot of the league table, 13 points above the bottom three zone but a long way, 17 points, from the last Champions League qualification berth currently held by Manchester City at the fourth spot.
Curiously, the Baggies are coming off a 1-2 loss to City last Saturday at the Etihad Stadium for their third straight winless performance, as reported by SkySports.
Beninese winger Stephane Sessegnon gave the lead early for manager Tony Pulis' squad at the sixth minute of the contest, but the Citizens were able to quickly equalize at the 19th minute via a successful penalty kick from Argentine striker Sergio Agüero.
The hosts grabbed the lead at the 66th courtesy of French midfielder Samir Nasri in a rebound play off Kevin De Bruyne's miss, which proved to be the winner of the match.
It was the fourth winless game of the Throstles in their last six outings.
Meanwhile, Watford settled for a 1-1 draw with middling team Everton FC at their home stadium of Vicarage Road last Saturday, as per BBC Sport.
Both goals were scored during stoppage time before the halftime interval with Everton's Irish midfielder James McCarthy scoring at the 45th+1 and Watford's Greek defender Jose Holebas leveling the count at the 45th+3.
After a scoreless second half, the two teams had settled for the tie and a share of a point in the overall standings.
It was the sixth consecutive winless effort from the Hornets, although the draw snapped the four-game losing skid of head coach Quique Sánchez Flores in the process.
The predicted result is a tough 1-0 win for West Brom.
