As “Descendants of the Sun” airs its 16th and final episode tonight, there are numerous speculations on how the blockbuster Korean drama would end. One theory is someone would die because of Yoo Si Jin, played by Song Joong-ki, and members of the Alpha team going on another dangerous mission.
Then there is another scene when Staff Sergeant Choi looks disturbed when Kang Mo-yeon, played by Song Hye kyo, asks about Yoo. The staff of the drama has ensured that there would be no leaks of how the show would end, so all talk of someone dying are pure speculations.
However, what is 100 percent sure is that “Descendants of the Sun” would not end as just a dream of Yoo. The assurance comes from no less than Kim Eun Sook, the writer of the show, who has learned from past Korean dramas she wrote with endings that disappointed the fans, reported Asia One.
Netizens are worried the Episode 16 would have as a last scene Yoo waking up and realizing all was just a dream because that was how “Lovers In Paris,” which Kim wrote, ended. She said in an interview with KBS1 radio show “Hello, This is Hong Ji Myung,” “I’ve heard that people think that the whole story is Yoo Si Jin’s dream in the end.”
The writer continued, “If that is the case, then I might really need to (emigrate) to another country, because I would not be able to live in Korea.”
Kim pointed out, “I’ve been scolded by a lot of viewers regarding my endings. I don’t think I will be making the same mistake again and I want to tell viewers to confirm the ending after watching the live broadcast,” quoted Design&Trend.
Besides, “Lovers In Paris,” Kim was also the author of “Heirs” and “Secret Garden.”
